On April 6, the friends of SVD, a lay partner group associated with the Divine Word Missionaries, met in the Common Formation Center in Langata Nairobi for a Day of Recollection. This is in preparation for the Easter as is our call as committed Christians.
In not so many years ago, spiritual recollections and retreats were thought to be a thing of religious and priests. However, today, many lay people have embraced the spirit of retreating out of their busy day to day activities. This has enhanced to a great extent their understanding of their responsibilities as well as fueling their commitment to Christian values and charity.
The recollection was preached by Deacon Francis Bakilatob, SVD and Frt. Boris Randrianirina, SVD.
The group also donated food stuff and household articles to the Formation Center.
